Style, Spirit, and Sigma Kappa

There is something special about the energy a chapter brings to a space, and on March 26th, The Westport was officially painted "Sigma Kappa." We had the absolute pleasure of hosting the sisters of Sigma Kappa (Delta Iota) for their annual T-Shirt Dance, and to say the night was a success would be an understatement. From the moment the doors opened, the ballroom was filled with the kind of high-energy spirit that only a sisterhood like this can provide.

Historic Soul Meets Modern Celebration. One of the reasons we love hosting Greek Life events is seeing how our "historic soul" adapts to different vibes. Our 11,000-square-foot ballroom—with its original 1920s wood beams and polished floors—served as the perfect backdrop for the casual, fun atmosphere of a T-shirt dance.

The open layout allowed for plenty of room for dancing, a dedicated "Guest List" check-in station for smooth entry, and several designated "photo-op" corners where the girls could capture memories.

A Standard for Excellence! As venue owners, we take a lot of pride in our community partnerships. We were so impressed by the professionalism and respect shown by the Sigma Kappa members. It’s a testament to their leadership that they can host an event that is both high-energy and perfectly managed. By choosing a venue in the heart of Downtown Chico, the chapter provided a safe, centralized, and sophisticated location for their members to gather and celebrate their sisterhood.

What’s Next? Hosting events like these reminds us why we transformed this historic building into an event venue. Whether it’s a casual social, a formal gala, or a family brunch, we love being the canvas for Chico’s most memorable nights.

To the sisters of Sigma Kappa: Thank you for choosing The Westport! We can’t wait to welcome you back for your next tradition.
